FINE ART IN SOCIETY - THE MERCH SHOW AT MACKIES CORNER

Updated: Nov 13, 2019

For the Merch show i originally intended to make multiple t-shirts in collaboration with Sam Leatherbarrow, we even had designs for shirts along with tags which we wanted to laser cut over at fab lab. However due to lack of time due to compulsory work from this and other modules we decided it would be more time efficient to make individual shirts. I decided to avoid any digital process and embroider over an abstract open screen print. The design i used was a sketch i had done for a previous module but one i had become quite fond of and also used on the cover of "The Inventory of Inconsequential Icons" which i sold at the Baltic self publishers fair. I then proceeded to dye the shirt a light yellow to match the embroidery thread i had used on the patch. I attached the patch with a messy uneven stitch in keeping with the loose imprecise embroidery.
