Puppet size experimentation

Updated: Nov 13, 2019

In order to develop these kinetic creatures as I had started making them rather large, I had decided to experiment by making them smaller to see if I would still get the same range of movement as I would with the larger pieces. One however was far too small to even apply the pins into to make the piece kinetic and the next size up that I was debating using for stop motion had some movement but not as much as I would like. So, if I decided to develop my work into a stop motion piece I would find another way to make the creature move. The large ones are perfect size for what I had originally intended them to do which is to be attacked to people and operated by them in a performative manner. I decide to continue using cardboard rather then beginning to work with wood as i had planned because as i decided i wanted them to be wearable and wood and bolts would be too difficult for people to hold and operate.
