MAX ERNST


Max Ernst worked in a variety of styles and mediums but I have been predominantly inspired by his surrealist paintings particularly of creatures and landscapes. The way he has seamlessly amalgamated figurative elements, creatures and objects the landscape are something I desire to emulate within my own practice. He also uses a variety of architecture, natural forms and nostalgic elements to create these dream like spaces. Ernst have also used three dimensional elements in his paintings which make them look like portals to the surreal environments he creates and make them seem like portals to another world.
