Figures and religious symbolism
Updated: Nov 14, 2019
Throughout my practice there tends to be a lot of influence of faith-based imagery stemming from life experience along with imagery which is very common within my dreams. These two experiments are based on a memory or dream from my early teens and I can no longer remember whether it was a memory that has morphed to become more fantastical over time or whether it was just a dream in the first place. Although these pieces are very autobiographical in nature, I’d like to incorporate more universal imagery and themes relating to a more collective sense of experience as well as my own. For this I intend to research more into symbolism as well as maybe experiment more with figurative pieces as it’s something I tend to stay away from.
